Do I have to pay the residence tax and the tourist tax?
If you rent the primary residence or the secondary residence of an owner on a seasonal lease, you must pay the tourist tax, but not the residence tax, whether you are present on January 1st or not.
If you rent a furnished apartment for a few weeks and pay the tourist tax, you do not have to pay the residence tax. It is the owner's responsibility to pay it.
Otherwise, you are subject to the residence tax if you are in the apartment on January 1st of the current year.
When the tourist tax is due, Paris Attitude will collect it from you and then transfer it to the relevant organizations and local authorities.
This will be payable at the same time as the rent.
The owner of an apartment rented through Paris Attitude will never be able to directly ask you for payment of this tourist tax.
