I have to leave the apartment earlier than expected, what should I do?

Edited

Entry of premises carried out with the landlord: If you wish to leave the apartment before the end of your lease, you can give your notice directly in your tenant space.

  • The accommodation is your primary residence: you will need to sign the notice letter and send it by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt (LRAR) from a post office or by online registered letter from the La Poste website.

  • Otherwise, you can sign your notice electronically.

Please note that, in accordance with French law, a notice sent by email is not valid.

Entry of premises carried out with Paris Attitude: In this case, the customer service will be informed of your intention to leave the apartment as soon as you have submitted your notice in your tenant space. If the accommodation is not your primary residence, you will be able to sign your notice electronically; otherwise, it will need to be sent by registered letter from the La Poste website. This will allow for the organization of the exit inventory, which remains mandatory, and to update your deadlines.

The notice period for a furnished rental is one month unless there is an express agreement from the landlord of the apartment. You remain liable for your rent until the end of your notice period and no refund can be made.
